At McCauley And Associates Medical Group, in Alachua, FL, we are a family practice that understands just how important your health is to you and your family. Since 2004, Dr. James McCauley and his knowledgeable staff have been dedicated to the treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in a warm and welcoming environment.

Dr. James McCauley, MD
Dr. McCauley completed his internal medicine residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. He has trained in the ICU, Emergency room and Women’s health. In addition to primary care, he is also a Hospitalist with privileges at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine. He enjoys reading and traveling. He has lived in Gainesville for over 20 years with his wife and three children. Dr. McCauley is a graduate of Trinity College in Dublin Ireland. He completed his residency in Ireland and the United Kingdom. He is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. In 1995, he moved to the United States and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Geisinger Medical Center.

Christina Carlton - APRN
Christina is an American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She brings with her 21 years of experience in healthcare. Christina has a strong background in Cardiology and Internal Medicine as well as spending most of her career in Emergency Medicine and Trauma in the acute care setting.
Christina has continued to advance her education. She obtained CNA, LPN, and BSN prior to completing her APRN. In 2021, she completed her Master’s degree from Chamberlain University and specialized in Family Nurse Practitioner. Christina is also certified in Hormone Replacement Therapy and has specialized in Women’s health.
Christina brings with her a passion for her patients, having an ability to provide an individualized plan of care based on each patient’s unique background. She continues to stay current with the evolving field of Medicine, with a focus on individual patient beliefs and cultural practices, and holds herself to the highest standards of excellence.
Christina and her husband, also a nurse, have three boys. Together, they enjoy the benefits of living in North Central Florida and love any outdoor activities from fishing and beaches, to the sports of UF.
Crystal Baumann - APRN
Crystal is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Crystal brings a strong critical care background after spending most of her nursing career in Emergency Medicine and Trauma ICU at UF Health, while also working alongside in plastic surgery for many years where she developed an interest in aesthetics as well.
In 2017 she completed her graduate studies earning her Master’s Degree from Kaplan University specializing in Family care and began her advanced career as a Nurse Practitioner. Crystal also completed advanced training in 2018 and became certified in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, and extensive training in Women’s health.
Throughout her journey, she has learned that she enjoys all aspects of healthcare. She strives to make each patients experience individualized and meaningful through both modern and traditional medicine treatment from a holistic approach. She is passionate about her patients and committed to providing excellent care.
Crystal and her Husband have three beautiful children, they enjoy spending time together as a family, outdoor activities and the animals they have on their small farm.
