At McCauley And Associates Medical Group, in Alachua, FL, we are a family practice that understands just how important your health is to you and your family. It’s for that very reason why we strive to get to know every patient in order to provide them with the individualized care and services they need. Since 2004, Dr. James McCauley and his knowledgeable staff have been dedicated to the treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in a warm and welcoming environment.

Dr. James McCauley, MD
JM completed his internal medicine residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. He has trained in the ICU, Emergency room and Women’s health. In addition to primary care, he is also a Hospitalist with privileges at North Florida Regional Medical Center and Select Specialty Hospital. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine. He enjoys reading and traveling. He has lived in Gainesville for over 20 years with his wife and three children.
Dr. Efrain Rosario, MD
Dr. Rosario is originally from Puerto Rico where he obtained his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico completing his residency at the Ponce School of Medicine. Dr. Rosario has more than 30 years combined experience in Family Medicine and Urgent Care. Having been trained in bariatrics, he has a particular interest in assessing patients for weight loss. Board certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Rosario has been nominated as a top doctor in his specialty on multiple occasions. His real passion comes from serving his patients in a fully dedicated and compassionate manner. He has lived in Gainesville, Florida now for 20 years and maintains his health by playing basketball several days per week. He enjoys spending time with his wife of 38 years, 2 children and 4 grandchildren. He enjoys hiking and traveling and has a particular passion for woodworking with part of the proceeds supporting Alzheimer’s disease, in honor of his mother.

Cami - APRN
Cami is an APRN who started with Dr. McCauley in 1999 as an LPN at the Senior Healthcare Center in Gainesville, FL. She then received her RN degree in 2003 from Lake City Community College and continued working with Dr. McCauley at the Senior Healthcare Center. In 2006, she accepted a clinical supervisor position at McCauley and Associates. Throughout the 23 years with McCauley and Associates, she successfully delved into hospitalist recruiting and practice management. She completed her bachelor’s degree and in 2020, she completed her graduate studies earning her master’s degree from Chamberlain University specializing in family care. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner.
She was born and raised in this area, graduating from Santa Fe High School in 1993. She is happily married to her high school sweetheart of 25 years and has two beautiful girls. She enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, crafting, watching movies, yard sales with the bestie, and supporting the Florida Gators.
Crystal - APRN
Crystal is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Crystal brings a strong critical care background after spending most of her nursing career in Emergency Medicine and Trauma ICU at UF Health, while also working alongside in plastic surgery for many years where she developed an interest in aesthetics as well.
In 2017 she completed her graduate studies earning her Master’s Degree from Kaplan University specializing in Family care and began her advanced career as a Nurse Practitioner. Crystal also completed advanced training in 2018 and became certified in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, and extensive training in Women’s health.
Throughout her journey, she has learned that she enjoys all aspects of healthcare. She strives to make each patients experience individualized and meaningful through both modern and traditional medicine treatment from a holistic approach. She is passionate about her patients and committed to providing excellent care.
Crystal and her Husband have three beautiful children, they enjoy spending time together as a family, outdoor activities and the animals they have on their small farm.
Jane - Referral Coordinator
Been with McCauley & Associates for 7 years. Prior to McCauley & Associates, I worked as a phlebotomist at a local blood/ specimen lab. I have more than 15 years in the medical field.
In my free time, I love being outdoors and taking my boys hunting and fishing.
Brenda - Medical Office Specialist
Brenda has worked in the medical field for 25+ years. She worked at Shands for more than 12 years doing billing. She has also worked in a pediatric office and gynecologist office.
When Brenda is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family fishing and hunting and just being outdoors.
Chris - Medical Assistant
Chris is a mother, grandmother, wife and loves being at the beach outside the office. When she is not spending time with her grandchildren, she is with her husband spending time with their dogs Rocky and Blue. All in all, she is still a Michigan girl at heart. GO BLUE!
Michelle - Practice Manager
Michelle is a RN and the Practice Manager. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Business
Adminstration/Marketing from Penn State University. She then completed her RN diploma from the Geisinger School of Nursing. She has worked as a nurse in Home health care, hospital and primary care. She joined McCauley and Asscociates in 2004. She is married with three
children. She enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at her church. She is
passionate about working with those with special needs and Special Olympics.
